Our Dive Center is located directly on the “Cala Lliteras”. Known by scuba divers and tourists all around Europe as the “diving bay”visited by over 20,000 divers’ trough all those years. The Dive Center is very well equipped for all kinds of activities, teaching courses, Caves, deep diving, drop offs, or just relax dives, you decide! We just take care of your safety underwater showing you the best spots you will never regret have seen.

 

It is ideally suited for training at all levels and for the teaching of “special courses”. Ideally located for snorkelers. We provide video equipment for underwater shots, U / W Scooters and fully diving equipment for rent is also available. Our Dive Center has child-friendly equipment and because of the safe dive location for the teaching especially with kids is most appreciated among young and elderly divers, we do a lot of KIDS and FAMILY DIVING over the season.

The MERO diving base has been firmly established in the diving bay of Cala Lliteras in Cala Ratjada since 1970. The director, base manager and diving instructor Jaime Ferriol has made a name for himself over the years as a leading figure in the scuba diving tourist industry. Jaime Ferriol invariably known just as “Jaime” is the pioneer of diving in Cala Ratjada and was one of the first in Majorca.

 

It was Jaime who discovered the meanwhile famous underwater caves near Cala Ratjada and gave them all a name. Thanks to his strict safety rules (with and without guests) he has safely completed more than 1000 dives in underwater caves. He is an enthusiastic connoisseur of these submerged caves in Cala Ratjada. Film and TV documentaries have been made with his support, not only in the caves. His vast experience in more than 13,000 dives is invaluable. Jaime earned and gained his considerable experience in various diving bases all over the world as owner or employee. His experience is in no way restricted to the Mediterranean, he also spent training and working time in diving areas such as Mafia Island, Tanzania, the Seychelles, Mauritius and the Maldives. Jaime is happy to share the experience he has gained in these and other diving areas all over the world with his guests.

 

His philosophy is : THERE IS ALLWAYS SOMETHING STILL TO LEARN!

 

Just ask him, he will let you share in his knowledge and experience. Jaime’s home is Majorca and he knows the island from every side, not only under water. As an enthusiastic light aircraft pilot he loves to gives his friends a special treat with a sightseeing flight around the Balearic Islands. Jaime has dived in Majorcan waters since he was a little boy. Training courses for diving instructors have often been carried out at his diving base in Majorca.

 

Because of his knowledge and well known reputation he has been reelected as President of the PDIA – Professional Diving Instructor Association – of the Balearic Islands since 1982. Jaime speaks and write fluently German, English, French, some Italian, Portuguese and of course his mother languages Spanish and Catalan,

Safety, responsibility and seriousness are always Jaime´s prime considerations otherwise he would not still be enjoying his work. His greatest success from his point of view is all the guests who have become real friends. He is proud of his 80% regular customers and grateful to them for their constancy.
